Lifeline is a federal assistance program that helps make communications services more affordable for eligible low-income households. The program provides a monthly discount on qualifying phone or internet services, helping individuals and families stay connected to jobs, healthcare providers, schools, emergency services, and loved ones.
Who Qualifies?
You may qualify for Lifeline if you:

Participate in certain federal assistance programs, such as:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
- Veterans Pension or Survivors Benefit
OR
- Meet the income eligibility requirements based on your household income.
Only one Lifeline benefit is available per household.
Program Benefits
Eligible customers may receive one of the following monthly Lifeline discounts:
- Up to $9.25 per month toward qualifying internet service, OR
- Up to $5.25 per month toward qualifying telephone service
Customers may receive only one Lifeline benefit per household, and the benefit may be applied to either internet service or telephone service, but not both.
Benefits are provided in accordance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations and program guidelines.

Lifeline is a government assistance program. The benefit is non-transferable, and only eligible consumers may enroll. Consumers who willfully make false statements in order to obtain the benefit may be subject to fines, imprisonment, de-enrollment, or other legal action.
